Elderly Man Hit in the Face With Metal Pipe in Queens: NYPD

An elderly man who was trying to park his car last month in Queens was hit in the face with a metal pipe by an unknown suspect who remains on the run, police said.

The attack happened on July 11 just before 2 p.m. as the elderly man was parking his car outside a home on 83rd Street in Jackson Heights, the NYPD said.

The suspect approached the victim and struck him in the face with the pipe before fleeing in a black sedan, police said.

The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was treated and released for swelling and lacerations.
