A 78-year-old man missing since he went for a hike on the Appalachian Trail in Orange County seven days ago has been found dead, state police said Friday.
The man, a Monroe resident whose name has not yet been released, left his car parked near East Mombasha Road in Monroe a week ago, police said.
His body was found Friday in the woods.
Police were investigating.
