A yellow cab jumped a curb and pinned a woman in Greenwich Village on Thursday morning, authorities said.
The woman was walking at East Eighth Street and University Place in Manhattan when she was hit by the cab just before 11 a.m., according to officials.
She was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.
Witnesses say the taxi driver was headed the wrong way on a one-way road and panicked before hopping the curb.
The driver remained on the scene after the crash.
