Police say this man followed a woman into her building, pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her in the East Village early Sunday.

Police say they've caught the attempted rape suspect whose face was captured in a clear surveillance video from an East Village apartment building Sunday morning.

Imre Meszesan, 35, of Brooklyn, was arrested Tuesday on charges of attempted rape and burglary, police said.

He's accused in the attempted rape of a 27-year-old woman in her apartment building early Sunday. Police said Meszeman followed the woman into her building at about 3 a.m., pushed her to the ground and attempted to rape her.

The victim fought him off and he fled the scene.

Police said Meszesan already had a record, and were able to match the surveillance video images of the suspect's face to Meszesan's in their database.

He was in custody Tuesday night.
