Police are looking for the knife-wielding robber they say has hit at least ten businesses in nine towns across Long Island, including six Dunkin' Donuts and two ice cream shops.
The most recent robbery was Wednesday night at a Carvel in Hewlett.
The same man is believed to have robbed a Carvel on Dutch Broadway in North Valley Stream Tuesday night. The suspect went into the empty ice cream shop brandishing a 6-inch knife and demanded cash from the register.
He walked around the counter and told the lone employee in the store to open the register before grabbing money and running out, authorities said.
The cashier wasn't injured in the ordeal.
Authorities say the suspect is likely the same robber who hit several Dunkin' Donuts, a 7-Eleven, a Subway sandwich stop across Nassau County since March 1.
In each of those robberies, the suspect waited until the store was empty, then barged in with a knife and stole money.
