Dumpling-Eating Contest This Weekend

Love dumplings? You have the chance on Saturday to participate in a dumpling-eating contest on the Lower East Side.

The first is Tang’s Natural NYC Dumpling Festival, where a Guinness World Records judge will track results.

The winner gets the honor of “Most Dumplings Eaten in Two Minutes.”

The second is the Chef One Dumpling Eating Contest, for which the official men's record is 66 dumplings in two minutes, set in 2008, and 43 for the women's, set in 2007.

The contests are scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. at the Sara D. Roosevelt Park as part of the 2011 NYC Dumpling Festival -- a celebration for the popular potstickers.

Chefs will offer a variety of international dumplings, including Korean mandoo and Italian ravioli.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Food Bank for New York City.
