31 Indicted in NJ Heroin, Crack Trafficking Ring

The indictment alleges racketeering and other charges against members of a street gang

Thirty-one people have been indicted in an alleged drug ring that authorities say trafficked heroin and crack cocaine in New Jersey State Prison in Trenton and Middlesex County.

Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa announced Tuesday the indictment includes racketeering and other charges against the alleged ringleader and alleged members and associates of a violent Perth Amboy-based drug network linked to the Netas street gang.

The 32-count indictment charges 28-year-old Danni Rivera of Rahway of leading a narcotics trafficking network, a first-degree offense that could carry up to life in prison.

Rivera, who is being held on $1 million bail, is also charged with kidnapping. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
