Authorities: Accused Drunken Driver Spit on Cop

The Pennsylvania driver was allegedly driving drunk when he was pulled over

Authorities say a Pennsylvania man who allegedly was driving drunk on a northwestern New Jersey highway resisted arrest and also spit on a police officer.

David Brotzman of Easton faces numerous counts, including aggravated assault on a police officer, stemming from last week's traffic stop on Route 46 in Hackettstown.

The 43-year-old Brotzman allegedly refused to exit his vehicle when asked to do so by the officer. He then grabbed onto the steering wheel and wedged his foot into the door jam of the car so he couldn't be removed from the vehicle.

After being taken to police headquarters, Brotzman allegedly spit on and kicked a table into an officer.

A telephone number for Brotzman could not be located Monday.
