Sophomore Accused of Burglarizing Dorm Rooms at NY College

A college sophomore is accused of slipping into dorm rooms where students were sleeping on a Long Island campus and trying to burglarize them.

Stony Brook Police Chief Robert Lenahan said in many of the cases, the victims woke up and the burglar fled without taking anything.

In one case, he was able to get away with a wallet that had a credit card and $200.

He is alleged to have gone on the burglary spree in just a matter of hours overnight Thursday.

Police say he was captured on multiple surveillance cameras.

The dorm rooms he entered were unlocked, police said.
