Cops Save Adorable Emaciated Puppies in Hunt for Slash Suspect

Police looking for a suspect in a slashing rescued two adorable dogs from a feces-filled basement in Brooklyn Tuesday.

The 25-year-old suspect wasn't home when cops stopped at his East New York home; the officers spotted the pups through a basement window.

The door wasn't locked and the cops went inside, according to the Daily News

The dogs' ribs were sticking out; they had no water or food and were covered in their own waste, the paper reported. Police took the animals, believed to be about 6 months old, to the precinct.

The 75th Precinct's Twitter account tweeted that the dogs were taken to the ASPCA.

Cops later caught up with the dogs' owner, who was hit with animal cruelty charges along with the assault charge they had been seeking him on.
