Abused, Starved Dogs Found in Box in Trash

Authorities are trying to determine who left two abused and emaciated dogs inside a box dumped into a trash container outside a Hudson Valley business.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports
that the Ulster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says a passerby heard something coming from a large trash container near a retail store in Kingston on Monday.

Inside a box in the container were two small, cream-colored terrier mixes. One of the dogs' hind legs was nearly chewed off.

The dogs were brought to the UCSPCA, where the animals were treated.

The agency is asking anyone with information about the dogs to contact them at 845-331-5377.
