Passengers Sickened on JFK-Bound Flight: Officials

It's not clear what caused the passengers to vomit and feel nauseous

Several passengers on a Delta flight from Istanbul that landed at Kennedy Airport Wednesday got sick on board the plane, requiring medical assistance when they landed, officials said.

Delta said it's looking into what caused the passengers on flight 73 to feel ill during the flight. Medical personnel at Kennedy Airport met the affected passengers, who were vomiting and nauseated.

Delta employees were "working closely with these customers to ensure they are well cared for," said spokeswoman Leslie Scott.

The sick passengers were held for less than a half-hour before they were allowed to proceed through customs, officials said.
