Man Stabbed Inside Harlem Deli

The man was stabbed in the chest.

A man was stabbed to death inside a Harlem deli early Tuesday morning, police said.

Police responded to a 911 call at the Lexington Avenue deli at about 5:30 a.m., and found a man with a stab wound to the chest when they arrived.

He was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.

Police are investigating whether the men may have argued before the stabbing.

Maria Colon, who works at a cafe near the deli at 116th Street, outside the No. 6 subway stop, said she was surprised by the violence.

"I was shocked -- I still don't know exactly what went on," she said.
