Deer Smashes Through Front Door of NY Coffee Shop

Maybe it just really wanted some caffeine

A deer crashed through the front door of an upstate coffee shop Tuesday morning, sending customers to the exit in a hurry, the shop owner said.

Owner Donna Brooks told NBC 4 New York the deer smashed through the glass front door of her Hudson Coffee Traders store in Kingston around 7 a.m. Video from the shop shows the deer galloping toward the front door before plowing through the glass.

Brooks said the deer didn't seem badly hurt, and no customers were injured.

According to The Record
, the deer hung around meekly near the back of the store until animal care authorities arrived about half an hour later and corralled it.

Police say they released the deer into the wild.

Store operations were back to normal by lunchtime, Brooks said.
