Towel, Skirt Found With Dead Baby May Help Police Identify Mother

Police have released photos of a black skirt and a towel found with the dead baby in Westchester

Police are still trying to identify the mother of the dead baby boy found inside a plastic bag at a Westchester recycling plant Tuesday, and believe a skirt and a towel found with the baby may help in their search.

The baby was born full-term and killed after he was born, according to investigators.

A worker was sifting through piles of recyclable materials at the Brookfield Recycling Plant in Elmsford when he found the body inside a plastic bag mixed among cardboard, Westchester police say.

Investigators released photos of a black skirt and a towel with a floral design found with the baby inside the plastic grocery bag, which came from the Maple Deli on Myrtle Avenue in Spring Valley, according to police.

Police are seeking any information that will lead them to the child's mother. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by New York State Crime Stoppers (1-866-313-TIPS or nyscrimestoppers.org).
