"Friends" star David Schwimmer helped police who were investigating a disturbance outside his East Village home, the NYPD confirms.

The disturbance was reported early Monday morning on East Sixth Street, where Schwimmer lives.

Police say Schwimmer gave police footage from the security cameras at his home, which adjoins the building where the call originated.

Police say two men, 21 and 26, are in custody, but would not give details.

The New York Post says the men got into a fight that turned into a slashing.
