Water Main Break Leaves Dozens in NJ Without Service

A water main break in the central New Jersey community of Cranford has left dozens of homes without water service.

New Jersey American Water says the break in the 16-inch cast iron main was discovered around 5 a.m. Thursday. It occurred in the area of Denman Road and Lincoln Avenue.

The utility says about 70 customers were without service, while many others were experiencing low water pressure. Officials say bottled water has been brought to the affected area.

It's not yet known what caused the break, and it wasn't clear when repairs would be completed.
