Alert Issued After Coyote Spotted Attacking Deer in New York

Police in New York are warning residents to be on the lookout after a coyote was seen chasing down and killing a deer in someone’s front yard over the weekend.

Police in South Nyack issued a coyote alert after several residents in the Rockland County town reported seeing one of the animals kill a deer before running into the woods near Shadyside Avenue on Sunday.

Residents in South Nyack, Upper Grand View and Orangetown are being urged to exercise caution if they see a coyote, and should call police if the animal appears to be aggressive or shows signs of illness.
