Police shut down a portion of Times Square Sunday night after a suspicious "knapsack" was reported at the corner of 43rd Street and Broadway.
Officers closed Seventh Avenue from 35th Street to 42nd Street for more than 30 minutes.
Bomb squad officers determined that there was no explosive in the package, which was left there by a tourist, police said.
