NJ Cop Cops to Porn Charges

A 30-year veteran of a Bergen County police department pleaded guilty today to child pornography charges. Ronald Scull, a former police sergeant with the Roselle Park Police Department, had more than 1,000 explicit images of children as young as 10 years-old.

Scull resigned from the New Jersey Police force after federal agents searched his home last August.

The 14-month investigation was headed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and included U.S. Postal inspectors who had monitored Scull’s mail via a search warrant. Law enforcement officers also seized a number of computer hard drives from Scull’s residence.

New Jersey officials said that no city computers were used by Scull to obtain child porn. Scull faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when he is sentenced in September
