Cocaine Delivered To You

They say you can get anything delivered in New York.

They say you can get anything delivered in New York.  That was partly the case at a Park Chester, Bronx pizzeria.  Investigators say the men managing the restaurant turned the business into a "Cocaine to Go" operation.

"The cocaine deliveries would sometimes be concealed in Pizza boxes," said New York's Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan.

Investigators say the pizzeria was under surveillance for 10 months.  Police arrested 6 restaurant employees and 3 customers who allegedly tried buying cocaine.

"The organization was dealing to a good number of local dealers who then supplied others who then supplied people on the street as well as people out of state," said Brennan.

Police seized 9 kilos of cocaine, $20,000 in cash and four handguns.

"They were here on time. They would work very hard.  They would have the store always full," said the pizzeria owner John Sarantis.

According to investigators Sarantis had no part in the drug ring.  The manager of the pizzeria Benigno Burgos of the Bronx, and his partner Victor Gomez also from the Bronx, are believed to be the alleged masterminds of the operation.

Patrons of the restaurant say they never noticed anything strange.  The pizzeria has been a staple in Park Chester for 15 years.
