Authorities say a repairman working on an air compressor at a northern New Jersey cabinet workshop lost part of his leg when the machine's tank exploded.

The repairman, whose name was not disclosed, was apparently struck in the leg by the metal edge of the tank when it exploded around 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dey Woodworking in Clifton.

A company employee also was injured in the blast, but details on that person's injuries were not disclosed.

The explosion also blew out some windows at the business and damaged internal beams. The building was temporarily closed while the investigation is ongoing.

Officials said Sunday that they were still trying to determine what sparked the explosion.
