Overnight Storm To Give Way to Sunny Weather for Memorial Day

Take that stroll along the beach while you still can this Memorial Day weekend. A storm is brewing later Sunday night.

It was 65 degrees in Central Park on Sunday morning, and it was expected to warm up to 72 degrees, which is still considered cool for this time of year. But the day is still shaping up to be a pleasant one as there is more sunshine than clouds.

If you're heading to the shore, temperatures will be cooler. If that doesn't sway you from taking a dip, the moderate rip current risk may.

There will be a light breeze off of the ocean today, at 10 mph.

This evening, some showers will give way to a more heavy downpour, especially after midnight with a potential thunderstorm. Expect the temperature to be in the upper 50s overnight.

Looking ahead, Memorial Day itself looks like a go for those BBQs as the clouds will dissipate by early afternoon for most of the tri-state area.
