1000's of Sandhill Cranes migrate to Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area near Valparaiso Ind. On this night, I happened to get a few flying past the moon. Also a flight shot during sunset. Thanks! Peggy Hanna
Some of New York City's iconic skyscrapers are joining a campaign to help millions of migrating birds this fall.
New York City Audubon says the buildings have agreed to turn off their lights from midnight to dawn during the peak migration season that began this week and runs until Oct. 31.
The group says the lights confuse and blind the birds. It says about 90,000 birds die in the city each year because of collisions with buildings.
