New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is headed to the beach.
Christie starts the first of three beach and boardwalk visits Tuesday with a trip to Ocean City.
The governor will tout his administration's commitment to protecting the state's beaches and waterways during his trip to Cape May County.
He also plans to take a walk on the beach or boardwalk.
Christie last week approved $650 million in no-cost and low-cost loans for water quality and protection projects. Some $450 million are for projects that clean up water used for fishing and swimming.
The rest is for projects that protect drinking water supplies.
More than 170 applications are pending.
