Police are looking for the robber they say put a 43-year-old man walking in Central Park in a chokehold and said “I’ll cut you” before taking cash.
The victim was walking in the park near West 81st Street and Central Park West at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday when the robber approached and grabbed him by the neck.
The robber, in his 20s, threatened his victim and ran off after stealing $30.
The victim was treated for minor cuts to his neck.
The robbery comes at a time when similar crimes in the iconic park are down. There have been 19 robberies in Central Park so far this year, compared with 24 through the same point in 2015.
