Two pedestrians, one of them a young child, were killed in two separate accidents in the same Manhattan neighborhood Friday, police say.
The first was just after 7 p.m. at the intersection of 96th Street and Broadway, when a man was struck and killed by a coach bus.
The driver remained on the scene and was cooperating with police.
About an hour later, a taxi struck and killed a young child near 97th Street and West End Avenue, according to police.
The child is said to be between 3 and 5 years old, and was walking with his or her father when they were hit.
Charges have not been filed so far in either accident.
