A 6-year-old boy who was taken to the hospital in critical condition after his grandmother pulled him, unconscious, from a family pool on Long Island Tuesday evening has died, police say.
The grandmother called 911 after pulling the boy out of the pool on Bedell Street around 5 p.m.
He was taken to a hospital in critical condition Tuesday evening, but died the next morning.
The Babylon town spokesman said the home had a valid pool permit and proper fencing. The home has had no prior code violations or complaints about the pool.
