It's highly unlikely that "The Iron Sheik"will make it to McCarren Park for the Cardboard Tube fighting tournament, but we think he'd appreciate the ferocity of the combat.

The Cardboard Tube Fighting League is coming to McCarren Park for an epic battle between good and evil, tube and man, purpose and insanity. This Sunday, the fighters will gather for a tournament at 12:30 pm, and of course, both cardboard armor and costumes are encouraged. [Animal]

The Department of Transportation is giving away free bike helmets this Saturday at Queensbridge Park in Long Island City, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
