Police on Long Island say two men have been killed in an auto accident in Centereach.

Police say a 43-year-old man apparently lost control of his car and struck a tree on Bowdoin Road just before 8 p.m. Saturday.

The driver and a 45-year-old passenger were taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center where they were pronounced dead. Their names have not yet been released.

There were no other injuries. Police are continuing to investigate.
