Car-Free Streets Festival Returns to Manhattan

A seven-mile stretch of the borough is car-free

Manhattan turned into a pedestrian paradise Saturday as the popular Summer Streets festival returned to the borough.

A seven-mile stretch is completely car-free, and activities on the streets will include biking, fitness classes and rock climbing.

New this year is an interactive art installation inside Midtown’s Park Avenue Tunnel.

Summer Streets runs for the next three Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Lafayette Street and Park Avenue up to 72nd Street.
