Three cars were involved in the accident on the north side of 42nd Street at Sixth Avenue Saturday night.

Police say approximately eight people were hospitalized, but none appeared to have life-threatening injuries. Some of the injured included pedestrians.

Police say a car rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection. That vehicle then struck a yellow cab. The first car somehow ended up on its side.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle that caused the initial accident.
