SUV Crashes Into Rockland Library, 6 Hurt: Police

Six adults and children were hurt, police say

An SUV crashed through the front of a library in Rockland County Tuesday evening, hurting six people, police say.

The vehicle went through the front entrance of the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley shortly after 8 p.m., hurting six children and adults, police said.

None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

It is not clear what caused the car to go through the building.

Library director Tracie Allen said the damage was extensive, with glass shattered all over the floor, book displays smashed, and four of the six computers at the circulation desk still working.
