Driver Crashes Into Park Ave Building, Hurting 1: FDNY

A driver trying to back up into a parking space on the Upper East Side instead plowed into a Park Avenue building, hurting a resident inside, officials say.

The driver accidentally backed into the side of the building one Park Avenue near 76th Street when he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, the FDNY says.

The car plowed into a basement apartment, injuring the resident inside, authorities say. The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital with bumps, cuts and bruises.

Charges have not been filed, but investigation is continuing.
