Driver, 23, Dies After Slamming Into Back of MTA Bus in Brooklyn

A 23-year-old driver died after he rear-ended an MTA bus that was stopped at a red light in East New York early Monday, police said.

Luis Duran was driving the 2003 Honda that hit the bus at the intersection of Jamaica and Euclid avenues shortly before 5 a.m., authorities said.

Duran, of Brooklyn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His crumpled vehicle ended up in a nearby gas station lot after the impact; it wasn't immediately clear how fast he was driving.

The investigation is ongoing.
