Hit-Run Driver Plows Into Queens Fried Chicken Restaurant, Hurts 2 Pedestrians: NYPD

Two pedestrians were hurt when an out-of-control car jumped a curb, hit them and then plowed into a fried chicken restaurant in Queens early Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

The car was traveling on Springfield Boulevard in Queens Village just before 1 a.m. when it hopped the curb and hit two people walking on the sidewalk, police say. The vehicle continued to veer further off the road, eventually slamming through a Crown Fried Chicken.

The driver ran off after the crash, police say.

The two pedestrians who were hit both had broken legs and were taken to the hospital. It's not clear if anyone was in the restaurant at the time of the crash.
