Two people were hurt, one of them seriously, when a van crashed into a fence near a school gymnasium in the Bronx Friday morning, authorities said.
The van plowed into a fence near Saint Dominic School on the corner of White Plans Road and Van Nest Avenue, toppling a small tree. The front of the vehicle was smashed.

Fire officials said one person was taken to the hospital for trauma-related injuries. That person is listed in serious, but stable condition, and is expected to survive.
