Burglar Stalking NY College Campus Arrested: Police

A burglar accused of stealing laptops, books, backpacks and more from a Long Island college campus has been arrested, police said. 

Ronnie Garland, 30, of Dewitt, is accused of a series of burglaries spanning nearly two months at Adelphi University campus. 

Detectives said he entered several buildings in the Garden City campus and stole laptops, books, a Nikon camera, wallets, credit cards, cash, keys, backpacks and other personal belongings. 

The burglaries began Sept. 11, Nassau County police said. He was arrested Dec. 2 when a witnessed noticed him on campus and called the police. 

Garland is charged with burglary, attempted burglary, possessing stolen property and possessing burglar tools, police said. 

It wasn't clear whether he had an attorney.
