Supermarket Worker Shoots Burglar Breaking in Through Roof in Queens

An accomplice got away.

A man trying to break into a Queens supermarket through the roof was shot and killed by an overnight worker early Tuesday.

The burglar and an accomplice had cut a hole in the roof of the Met Foodmarket on Jamaica Avenue and were trying to get into the store to rob it.

But they startled the worker, who had turned off all the lights and finished up for the night.

The manager told NBC New York that the worker struggled with the intruders, took one of their guns and shot one suspect, who was killed.

The accomplice with the burglar got away.
