Armed Man in Bucket Hat Robs Sandwich Shop, Hotel

Police have released surveillance video of an armed man in a bucket hat robbing two Queens businesses last week.

The suspect robbed a Howard Johnson hotel at 153-95 Rockaway Blvd. in Meadowmere Park at about 10:15 p.m. Monday, July 9, according to police. The next day, he robbed a Subway restaurant at 252-18 Rockaway Blvd. at about 11:45 p.m.

In each case, he showed a gun as he demanded cash, police said. He then went behind the front counters and took the cash before running away.

No one was hurt in the incidents.

The suspect is described as about 27 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches and about 130 to 150 pounds.
