Police won't go as far as calling Saturday morning's fatal fire a case of arson, but the blaze that killed two young brothers is at least "suspicious," they're saying.

Sean-Dell Gutter, 25, and Sherron Gutter, 23, died in the fire on Jewett Avenue on Staten Island early Saturday.

The five-alarm blaze spread so quickly that neighbors ran down the street, banging on doors to try to awaken others. In all, five homes were damaged and dozens of residents were displaced.

"When (firefighters) arrived, the fire was already already out the front door (of the Gutters' home)," FDNY Chief Sal Cassano said.

Several firefighters were injured battling the blaze, including one who stepped through a rooftop.

Police are still trying to determine who or what caused the fire.
