DNA Tests Identify '12 Gunpoint Rape Suspect in Brooklyn

Handout

Authorities have used DNA testing to identify the man wanted for allegedly forcing a woman waiting at a bus stop into a park at gunpoint and raping her last year, police said.

Police say the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Damien Hollis, walked up to a 26-year-old woman waiting at a bus stop in Brownsville on May 29, 2012, brandished a gun and forced her to walk to Lincoln Terrace Park, where he allegedly raped her.

Hollis also allegedly stole the victim's cell phone before running off. He's described as being about 6 feet tall and 160 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

Police released a photo of Hollis and ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at (800)-577-TIPS (8477).
