Police are looking for the man who grabbed a Brooklyn woman on the street and attempted to rape her while she was walking home early Friday.

Authorities say the 21-year-old victim was walking toward her home in Bedford Stuyvesant just before 1:30 a.m. when the suspect approached and began walking with her. The suspect then grabbed the woman and tried to rape her but she started to scream and a passerby intervened, police said.

The suspect ran off. He's described as being about 6 feet tall and in his 20s. He was wearing a black jacket with dark pants and a winter hat with draw strings at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
