Police have arrested a Brooklyn man in connection with the killings of a man and a woman whose bodies were discovered in an apartment building lobby and a car trunk Wednesday.
Steven Whittingham was arrested on murder charges in the deaths of his 36-year-old year girlfriend, Jonelle Barker, and of 35-year-old Jerome Barrets.
Whittingham knew Barrets, police said.
Barrets' naked body was found in the lobby of an apartment building in New Lots, according to police. He had been shot multiple times.
Fourteen hours later, police found Barker's body in the trunk of Barrets' car about a mile away.
Police would not officially comment on a possible motive.
It wasn't immediately known if Whittingham had an attorney.
