Pedestrian Killed in Brooklyn Hit-and-Run

The 40-year-old victim was pinned under a parked car with severe body trauma

A man was arrested in an alleged hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn that killed a pedestrian, police said Thursday.

Peterson Bonaventure, 34, of East 24th Street, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, police said.

Witnesses told the New York Post two dollar vans were speeding up Flatbush Avenue when one of them struck the pedestrian, who police said died at Kings County Hospital.

Police say they responded to Flatbush Avenue and Hawthorne Street just before midnight Wednesday.

They found a 40-year-old man under a parked car with severe body trauma.

Police determined that the pedestrian was struck by a Ford Econoline van traveling northbound on Flatbush Avenue.
