5 Hurt in Suspicious 4-Alarm Ditmas Park Fire: FDNY

Five people were hurt and at least one house was destroyed in a suspicious fire that spread to a neighboring home in Brooklyn Thursday morning, fire officials say.

The blaze broke out on the porch of a house on Glenwood Road in Ditmas Park shortly before 5 a.m., according to the FDNY. The fire, at a home undergoing renovations, quickly spread throughout the structure and another house.

The four-alarm blaze took about two hours to get under control, fire officials say.

Three children and two adults sustained minor injuries in the fire.

Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro said that the blaze is suspicious because of the size of the blaze.

Neighbors told NBC 4 New York that it's the second porch fire set in the area in recent weeks.
