Brooklyn ADA Arrested for Drunken Assault: Police

Michael Jaccarino, 30, was spotted by EMS walking across the Brooklyn Bridge appearing "highly intoxicated," police said

A Brooklyn assistant district attorney who was allegedly drunk was arrested after attacking an EMS worker on the Brooklyn Bridge early Saturday morning.

Michael Jaccarino, 30, was spotted by EMS walking across the Brooklyn Bridge appearing "highly intoxicated," police said.

After picking Jaccarino up, EMS was attempting to bring him to Beth Israel Hospital when authorities say he took off his seatbelt in the back of the ambulance, punched a female EMS worker who tried to put the seatbelt back on, and then held her down and choked her.

Police arrested Jaccarino and charged him with second-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, menacing and harassment, officials said.

A spokesman for the Brooklyn district attorney's office said Jaccarino had been suspended.
