An eighth grade student released pepper spray in a Bronx classroom Friday afternoon, and the fourth floor of the building was evacuated, officials said.

The Department of Education said the student set off the spray just before noon at P.S./I.S. 218.

No one was sprayed directly.

Ten students, including the suspect, were taken to Lincoln Hospital for observation. One student suffered an asthma attack.

Parents were notified and disciplinary action is pending.
