A 4-year-old girl was among three people shot in a barrage of gunfire that broke out during a fight at a Bronx corner, police say.
Two groups of people had arranged to meet on 167th Street in Claremont just before noon, and they pulled up in separate cars, according to NYPD Chief of Detectives Bob Boyce.
A fistfight broke out, and one man pulled out a gun and began shooting, Boyce said. Another man in the same group also pulled out a gun and began firing, too.
A black car fled the scene with two of the shooting victims inside, surveillance video shows, according to Boyce. Another vehicle seen on video doing a U-turn, then going southbound on Clay Avenue, is believed to have been occupied by the shooters.
The shooting victims ended up at local hospitals after transporting themselves there.
The 4-year-old girl, who was shot in the back, is believed to have been in one of the cars that fled the scene, Boyce said. She's expected to be treated and released later Wednesday.

A 57-year-old man shot in the back was the most seriously injured, Boyce said. He appears to have been a participant in the fight. It's not clear what role the third victim, a 33-year-old man shot in the leg, played in the shooting, if at all. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
Boyce said video shows a fair amount of people walking by at the time of the shooting, but none was hit. Still, it was a close call for some storeowners and bystanders. A bullet went through the glass of a Kennedy Fried Chicken eatery nearby, terrifying customers and startling the cook.
"I see that he shot my window," said Radwinder Singh, the cook. "Almost six shots. I come running here."
Witness Jesse Tompkins was right outside; he said the window "just shattered and the bullet just went in."
He said his first thought was, "I better get out of here real quick."
Police haven't made any arrests but don't currently plan to release the video that captured the shooting.
It's not clear what the fight was about, but video showed the two groups facing each other aggressively and squaring off, Boyce said.
"That's really crazy," said Kisha White. "You don't expecting something like that to happen in the middle of the day."
