Woman Thrown to Ground in Bronx Rape Attempt: NYPD

A man is being sought by police in a rape attempt in which he allegedly threw the victim to the ground while she was walking on a Bronx street, according to police. 

The 24-year-old woman was walking on East 161st Street in the Concourse section of the Bronx at about 5 a.m. Tuesday when the suspect walked up behind her and threw her to the ground, police said. 

He lifted the victim's skirt and laid on top of her, but then fled westbound toward the Grand Concourse, according to police.

The suspect, described as about 6 feet tall with a medium build, was last seen wearing a red and white striped short sleeve shirt, a black watch on his left wrist, light blue jeans, white sneakers and a baseball cap, police said.
